Weigh Day is Not a WaaaaHaaay Day!

Got weighed this morning, another pound lost. I know I should be pleased but I am disappointed.
I want to know what I am doing wrong?

Okay I know the exercise is virtually nil, I am doing my best to get over this stupid back of mine. But it is holding me back alot.  My eating has been spot on this week, 1600 calories or less per day. Not gone over once this week, even with having the girls here at the weekend.  The Mars bar is still here sat on the shelf, so that proves I am controlling my eating.

I am wondering if it is anything to do with the fact I am off HRT now and that is having a slowing down effect on my metabolism.  I know it is partly the reason my bones are aching!!

I am feeling like a hefty tortoise or even a huge turtle at the minute, plodding slowly through everything.  I don't like the feeling and need to do something about it. I know in the fable of the "Tortoise and the Hare" the tortoise finally wins the race, but this race don't seem to be on right now.

HEEEEEEEEEELP........................

I know you are disappointed, but at least it is down and down two weeks in a row, so you are doing something right. That is good going if you are feeling sore and achey.

No idea about the HRT thing, but it could be something to do with it. I did think though, that being on it can cause weight gain? I dunno!

Anyhoo, just look after your back, keep on track, get rid of the Mars Bar and as soon as you can work out more, you will be rocking those scales again.

(((hugs)))

I agree with Kari, Sheilagh. one pound down 2 weeks in a row is progress. and yes, get rid of the Mars bar! :D
If you never lost more than a pound a week for a year ... 52 pounds gone! I would love to take away your frustration so that you can see you ARE progressing and ARE doing things right.
Maybe take away your time constraint that you've set for yourself and take the pressure off of when you'd like to lose this.
I've had to do this over and over. My impatience gets the best of me and tricks me in to thinking I'm doing things *wrong*.

I do hope your back heals soon so that you can get back to exercising.
Lots of Hugs

Try not to be disappointed Sheilagh. Do you realise you have lost 1 bag of sugar or 2 tins of beans ? When you look at it like that, you can see that that is a fair bit of weight to lose. Slow and steady and off for life, is better than losing too much too quickly and putting it all back on again.
Hang in there... your doing great x x x

I only wish I had a loss to report this week. Iam envious. :) Any loss is a good one, but I certainly know how disappointing a small loss can be. Keep at it, you know you're doing the right things, so you'll make it happen sooner than you think.

I have stopped using my patch too and feel very achy- even before this cold. I do agree with everyone else though and they do say the slower you lose it the longer it will stay off. It is reducing darling and you looked fabulous at Talwrn so don't get disheartened. I love tortoises!!! xxx

You need a new method of mathematics. Had you not been eating limited calories, you would have gained 3 pounds. So, with your loss of one pound, considering what you might have gained, you're really down 4 pounds. :)
