Time Is Marching On!!!!!!!

First of all can I thank everyone for the very kind supportive comments about my feelings  for Conor and his planned army career.  They meant more to me than you will ever know, I got my husband to read them and he was very touched by the kindness and understanding. Conor went yesterday to swear his
Oath of Alligence and will be entering the army on Sunday March 7th. May God watch over him and every other serviceman serving their country.

Today is four weeks to my 60th and I am in place of not disappointment but a sad bittersweet place. I realised several weeks ago I would not  lose my 60 x 60 and was quite accepting of the fact. Now I am annoyed with myself, I should have been more committed, should have tried harder. I have still got 25.5lb's left to lose.

Now if I was CRAZY enough to think there was still a very slim chance I could still do it, what would YOUR advice be?

Step up the excercise?  (Go for it like the Biggst :Loser)
Cut the calories?           (Drop the calories to 1200 daily)

What would you do?

25lbs in four weeks? I'm sure you could... I think you'd have to do both...you may be annoyed at yourself but I don't think that should mean punishing yourself! However, if you decide to go for it, girl,I am right behind you.

If it were me, I'd continue on the path I'm on, and do the very best I can. To push yourself, and even punish yourself doesn't seem like a smart way to go about it. Think of how far you HAVE come, continue doing what you're doing. Being healthy and developing good habits may be more beneficial in the long run than a big, fast weight loss. All the best to you.

Cut out all starch. Including fruit...for the first two weeks.

Drink more water than you can (almost) stand.

No added salt.

At least 6 hours of sleep a night.

At least one hour of exercise a day, six days a week, BUT it's ok to break into 20-30 minute sessions at a time.

If that doesn't do the trick, it simply wasn't meant to be. But it WILL definitely get you closer!

Hi Sheilagh. I think you could lose maybe 10lbs in 4 weeks but obviously not the whole amount.

I once lost 2 stone in a month but I was a teenager with anorexia at the time. I don't think someone in their 30s or over will ever lose weight that quickly whatever they did. The thing which I can't get over now is that I lost so much weight so quickily when I was a heathy weight to start out with. I keep thinking to myself, How did I do that, how did that happen?

I don't think it would be wise to lower calories - your metabolism will just slow down, but a few long walks thrown into the mix whenever you are able will certainly help things along.

But if you just keep going as you are, then being say 40lbs down by 60 will still be brilliant. Maybe you can get to 60lbs down by 60 and a half? It's still a huge achievement.

You may still have 25 pounds to lose, but that is sure a lot better better than 60 to lose! Maybe you can lose 10 more before your big birthday celebration. At any rate, you are better by 60!!! You've still got it sexy Sheilagh!!! xxx
