Home Alone:o(

My husband left me this morning..

He left at 4am and headed to his beloved Scotland, but left me behind...

His mum is in hospital in Edinburgh after suffering a cracked pelvis
while playing golf  THREE WEEKS AGO!!
She wouldn't go to hospital after her fall, independent little madam.

She has been staying with her daughter and has been telling everyone she is fine. but the pain finally beat her a few days ago and she was admitted to hospital to get the pain under control. I am told she is floating on a morphine induced cloud at that moment. The worry is with her age and size (she is tiny) morphine depresses the respiratory system, so we hope the doctors are getting it right.

I couldn't go up to see her with Ralph, as I have no leave left in work, I could have booked compassionate leave but we did not think it appropriate at this time. So for the first time since we married we are going to be apart for four days. It is going to be very strange.

My Bezzy Mate Trish is coming this afternoon until tomorrow evening so it will be a natter marathon...
I am so looking forward to seeing and being with her.

Well it looks like we have a Hung Parliment here in Britain, not an ideal situation by any means, but the people have spoken and we need to make the best of a bad situation. It's going to be a busy weekend in Downing Street.

governments, oy.
well, have fun with your girl time.
Good time to read a romance novel, skip the cooking and have some time to relax. Enjoy.

So sorry to read about your MIL Sheilagh. I hope she will be ok, and also that you will be ok on your first time alone! (((hugs))) Saying a little prayer that you will. I hope that you have a lovely time with your mate Trish! I think the Government needs to stand up and take notice of the message that the people of Britain have sent to them with this election! It's very clear we ain't happy!!!

Ah, we spend more time apart than that, but I do hate it. Best wishes for your MiL, she sounds amazing! At this point, I feel slightly depressed by the Election news...they had better get it right.

I'll be holding a good thought for your MIL. But I must admit, I'm impressed that the injury was sustained playing GOLF. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope she is back on the links soon.

Hi Sheilagh. Well it sounds like you're going to have a good weekend nattering even though Ralph is away.

Hope your MIL is OK. Sounds like a feisty lady!

Oh boy ... I hope your MIL heals up soon! This woman is how old? Playing golf still? Good for her!

Are your jaws sore yet? I hope you and your mate are enjoying your time together ... despite Ralph being away.

Hugs, hugs and kisses to you, Sheilagh!
