Heaven Help Us

Davids Cameron is our new Prime Minister.
The poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer.
Gordon Brown left with dignity, Good Luck to him.

Our's is a quiet house tonight.

Hi Sheilagh.

"The poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer." Errrr, just what happened under Gordon Brown then. The divisions in society have increased massively under the champagne socialists. They feathered their own nests while bleeding the country dry. They leave us a much poorer nation in every way - but especially financially. And the main culprit is Gordon Brown. NOT an honourable man IMO.

I'm sorry to say I don't know much at all about Gordon Brown...I stopped paying attention when Tony Blair left, lol. I'm a capitalist though....not a socialist by any means, so the rich getting richer is probably right up my alley, lol. Sorry sis...hope you still love me, lol. :)

Well, Sheilagh, lets just pray that things go better than it appears that they will. There's a verse in the Bible stating that the Lord's hand moves the heart of the king. We'll pray that His hand will move the heart of David Cameron.

Uh=hmm, not all capitalists are bright-eyed and flippant at the thought of the rich getting richer... Most of us believe that capitalism allows the little guy to work hard and earn a decent living rather than being taken advantage of by the powerful. Just sayin.

sorry shelaigh, I am a rampant capitalist, mostly because I believe (having seen it first hand) that welfare kills the soul. It stifles drive and creates an permanant underclass where getting ahead is punished by removal of benefits...so it's like a perpetual treadmill.
I don't know David Cameron..heard his speech and he sounds like a politician. Your country and our country have a great deal in common..namely, debt.
We need to pay it off. Not spend more we don't have. I hope that somehow..our respective politicians pull their heads out of their respective rears and get to work on it.

Thank you for your comments, we are all entitled to our views and opinions, Thank God for free speech. The Conservative party have never been for the working class and I mean the working class not the spongers bleeding the system dry. I hope one of the good things to come out of this is the tightening up of the benefits system. Buit not taking the tax credits away from young working families.

You are absolutely right about our freedom to speak as we wish. I have learned after moving here, to keep my views to myself. Our friends are on opposite ends of the political spectrum from us. It's best I keep my mouth shut...unless I'm here at home yelling at the TV!!
