It's So Hot.

It has been so hot today, we were so uncomfortable in work. It was such a relief to get home and out of uniform. We were supposed to go for a walk this evening but I ended up going to bed instead. I felt so wiped out. I slept for two hours, that is not like me, not done that in a long time. I felt much better after the sleep and cooked some delicious fresh tuna. Served up with a delicious salad prepared by my darling husband.

I am watching Wimbledon right now, watching Andy Murray v Wawrinka. A great match.
Come on ANDY!!!

A very healthy eating day, a short period of exercise this morning, so not too bad.
Must do better tomorrow though.

As I Thought....

No weight loss this week, not too disappointed as I had a feeling there wouldn't be. I may be tempted to step on the scales again on Tuesday as it will be a week since weigh in after being away. Not sure wether or not to change weighing day to Wednesday like K. Will think about it.

I have done measurement's today and seeing small changes which is encouraging:

Bust: 48 ( stayed the same )
Waist: 43 ( 2 inches lost!! )
Hips: 46 ( 1 inch lost!! )
Tum: 50 ( 1.6 inches lost!! )
Midriff: 41 ( 1 inch lost!! )

That is a loss of 5.6 inches... I am very pleased with that thank you very much!!!!

I am also delighted that my blood sugar today measured 6.7 the lowest it had been in a long time.
BP was 123/69 pulse 68.

So I am delighted all measurements and readings are going the right way...DOWN

Saturday Night

I had a pretty good dy after a shaky start. I have been pretty emotional yesterday and today. One of my daughters is not friends with me at this time and it has a devastating effect on me at certain times, birthdays and holidays. Today her eldest son was sixteen and yesterday was his school prom and I wasn't able to see him. It breaks my heart. I pray every day for an end to this heartbreak. My darling husband tries to comfort me at such times but feels totally helpless.

Health and fitness wise I think I am doing OK, not as great as the beginning of the week but eating good stuff. I had a day off from exercise yesterday, but have done a good deal of walking.

I helped out at my granddaughter's Summer Fair yesterday and think I put weight on by osmosis. Standing by all those cakes made me feel 10 pounds heavier:) I had ONE.

I weigh in tomorrow, it will be just five days from my last one, due to my weekend away. So I am a little nervous of the result. But as Doris Day sang "Que Sera"...

Thursday Again..

Where did Wednesday go?
Where ever it went it was a great day. I was motivated all day.
I did one hour of exercise, including walking, the Wii, a ten minute s
exercise DVD session followed by dancing around the house to a Tina Turner CD.

I have discovered bean salads and they are gorgeous, especially the
"Three Beans and Mint" from Tesco.

Today was a good day too, had a 1.7 mile walk this evening with Titch.
Food has been delicious, Greek salad for tea, bean salad for lunch and strawberries and cream for afternoon break, courtesy of my boss....Just a smidge of cream.

I also baked 30 cupcakes for my granddaughter's school summer fair. I am very proud to say I dumped the mixing bowl in the sink without scraping out what batter was left. It was such a great feeling.

I am off to bed now and for the second night running, I am satisfied that I am doing great things for my body.

Bulging Fridge Groaning....

After my darling granddaughter's 5th Birthday party, at which I was Extremely good. We went shopping for fresh fruit and vegetables.. After being inspired by my visit to the Fab K, and the delicious food she served. I had also taken delivery of the F2 Diet book.

So armed with a list of idea's from K and the book I enjoyed shopping for healthy food. Hence the fridge is groaning, it has loads of fresh salad, fresh raspberries, strawberries, grapes, melon, pineapple, oranges. Lots of lo cal treats too, my husband said "we have never had so many treats in the house" But they are necessary, I realised at the weekend, if you know there is a small sweet treat available, you don't risk going and buying a load of chocolate and binging if you have had a baaad day....

So now I am a way to take a short walk on a beautiful sunshiny morning, I think this is going to be a great day.

Thanks K most of that it down to you.

Ok it is not the five that showed on mum's scales, but that was a daft thing to do anyway:)

So I am off to Tesco's to stock up on lots of delicious salady stuff!!!

I am one happy Bunny:) Unlike the one in the forest:(

Onwards and Downwards Sheilagh!! Go Girl Go!!!!

Back Home....

Well that was the weekend that was!!!
And a fabulous weekend it was too.
Wonderful company, fabulous food, wonderful walks.

I did a daft thing on Friday morning and stepped on the scales at mums, they weigh less than mine at home. I then got weighed this morning on her scales again and it showed a loss of FIVE pounds in three days!! I tried not to get excited but did..

I am now home but not getting weighed until the morning, I am so hoping for a decent weight loss, I hope I haven't set myself up for a disappointment.

I did a fair amount of walking, two miles on Saturday with the lovely K, then a two hour walk on Sunday along the beach and forest at Tenismuir . My back was so well behaved I was amazed.
Then I did a short walk around Dollar last night with my husband and Titch.

Food wise, 95% of the time I was so good I could feel wings sprouting.
Again my dear friend K was my guru for the weekend. She prepared the most delicious salads. I enjoyed fresh tuna for the first time ever. She also gave me lots of tips on healthy food and low calorie snacks. She also introduced me to Aero Orange chocolate drink, scrummy.....

Food at mums was wonderful too, the only downside if you can call it that was visiting Ralph's aunties, as the always bring out the biscuit box with your cup of tea;(. One cannot keep refusing, so I did have biscuits in three different houses!!

I am not going to let my quest for weight loss make me anti social, so I will go along with Scottish hospitality and enjoy the wonderful company , laughter and biscuits...

That is all for now, will report in early tomorrow re: any weightloss...

Bonnie Scotland Here We Come

We are off to Scotland tomorrow at 4am, to arrive at my lovely mother-in-law's at 9am.
I always enjoy out visits and she cooks some lovely meals. I won't have a problem watching what I eat as she serves up delicious fresh veg, fish caught by her brother (He is 77 she is 82).

I will have the opportunity to go for walks around Dollar, along the disused railway line, and maybe along the beach at St Andrews.. Just as long as my back behaves!!

I am looking forward to spending some time with my gorgeous friend K. Hopefully go on one of her walks with her, as long as I don't slow her down:(

So I will be back on Monday feeling refreshed from the wonderful Scottish air, fabulous friends and family and with a decent weight loss....fingers

Plodding On

I am plodding on, exercise wise. I wish I could report I am breaking a sweat every day, but I am not. My back and now my left hip are doing their best to stop me getting moving and they are winning so far. I am doing short walks and five minutes on the Nordic walk. I reckon it is better than nothing, but want to be doing so much more!!

Food wise I am enjoying my food, the soup and sandwich lunch is delicious, I am amazed at how much I am eating and not craving sweet stuff.

Long May it Last!!

Two Pounds Gone Never to Return

I lost two pounds this week and it feels good!!
I still have a positive outlook, hope it lasts.

Made gallons of healthy soup today, so my lunches are sorted for the next two weeks.
One of the doctor's I work for lent me a book, The F2 diet, it looks very healthy and wholesome.
It's by Audrey Ayton of the F Plan Diet.

I copied a couple of the soup recipes to give them a try.

Have been for walk today, my new trainers behaved themselves very nicely:)

Friday Morning

I am having a great week food wise, really enjoying some delicious salads.

Just put on a new pair of trainers which are so light I don't feel I have them on!!
Going to wear them around the house for a few days to "break them it" why do we say
Then on Monday I start my power walking regime. Have tried to persuade a friend to join me but she ain't having any of it, so I am on my own with my little pedometer and my Titch.

Not done anything on the nordic walker this week and my back is feeling better, I think maybe I was expecting too much too soon. So will try little and often and see how that goes.

I bought a set of exercise dvd's from Amazon which are brokendown into 10 minute slots so will be starting them on Sunday. There are four of them:

FatBlasting Dance Mix
Blast Off Belly Fat
Target Toning
Kickbox Bootcamp

So if I start doing 10 minutes a day and build up I should see some small changes within six weeks.

So here and now I am in a very positive frame of mind....LONG May it Last :)

I have spend a few£££££'s in the hope of losing Loads of lb's

It is going to pay off
It is going to pay off
It is going to pay off
It is going to pay off
It is going to pay off
IT IS!!!!

Sunday Sunday...

Where did that weekend go?

We have had a lovely weekend, Titch got a certificate and rosette and doggy class:) I must admit to tearing up, I really didn't expect it. She has come on so well in the past seven weeks.
We have been moved up a class now, it am really proud of her.

Eating wise, not been too bad, not been really good either:( Though I am feeling more motivated now. I think I am getting there as far as food is concerned. This week I am going to keep an improved record of what I eat daily. It will be a pain in the posterior but I reckon it is what I need to do.

I am concerned about the exercise as my back is showing little improvement and part of me wants to work through the pain. I am afraid of doing more harm than good though.

I have lost one and a half pounds this week, which is the most I have lost in a week in this present regime. So I must be doing something right. I am very pleased but would love a two or three pounds result at sometime.

So as another week beckons, I look forward to:

1. Going for walks with Titch on my own, for the first time in ages.
2. Baking a healthy spinach and ricotta strudel.
3. Making more soup.
4. Starting a healthy skin programme.
5. Spending less time on my laptop.

Thank Crunchie its Friday!!

I love the weekend, I love being with my darling so weekends are special.

My weekend started tonight at 6:30 when I finished work and got home and there was a delicious meal waiting.

Today I have had a good day foodwise.

Bran flakes and strawberries for breakfast.
Mackerel Salad for lunch (I am addicted to smoked mackerel)
Quorn in lemon sauce with rice for tea.

Snacks: 1 plum, 1 satsuma.

No bread at all:)

Only negative thing, I have hardly done any exercise the past few day. So I doubt if the healthy eating will give me a great weight loss because of the lack of exercise. Anyone know where Ican get a new back?

A Good Day

It has been a good day today, good healthy food, nothing processed:)

Made a big pan of lentil soup, had some for lunch, the rest has be frozen in portion size quantities. If ever I need comfort food, I know where to find it.

We had roasted Mediterranean vegatables for tea and they were scrummy.

We have been to vote, and have started planning the holiday for my big 60 :)

So I am a happy bunny tonight.

Plodding On

I seem to be a plodder now:) It used to be that the weight would come off quite easily, I have lost seven in a week before now. But now it is a pound or half a pound a week, very disheartening.

I am eating so healthily too, it's not fair (stamping foot down hard!)
It must be my age...
It must be my Diabetes...
It must be my contentment...

When I was unhappy I could lose weight easier, even though comfort eating was my forte. Now I am in a very happy contented relationship it is an uphill plod in wellies to lose the weight...BooHooHoo.....

Goes to show, you can't have Everything.

June 1st....Scarey...

I cannot believe the year is half gone. Can anyone slow things down slightly? Please?

I am feeling pretty good this morning, got a fridge full of gorgeous healthy food. Going to really enjoy my food this week.

I have stepped up the exercise plan today.
15 minutes on Wii
20 minutes on Walker.

My back is feeling OK, long may it continue.

Shower time then off to work...oh Joy....
